Our Story

TEDxWilmington is a licensee of TED, a nonprofit organization and global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. TED believes passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. TED.com is building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world’s most inspired thinkers — and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other, both online and at TED and TEDx events around the world, all year long.

Over the years, TEDxWilmington has grown from one annual event to many distinct events, including the Annual TEDxWilmington Conference, TEDxWilmingtonWomen, TEDxWilmingtonYouth, and TEDxWilmingtonED. We invite creators, catalysts, entrepreneurs, artists, technologists, designers, scientists, thinkers and doers to share at our conference events what they are most passionate about – positive ideas for the world and Delaware.

Our History

What is TED?

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Originally a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged in 1984, today TED covers almost all topics – from science to business to global issues – in more than 100 languages. Owned by a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation, TED’s agenda is to make great ideas accessible and to spark conversation.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark a deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = and independently organized TED event.

TEDx has been organized in 170 countries around the world and has hosted more than 15,000 events since its inception in 2009. Over 100,000 talks have been recorded and uploaded to YouTube. The TEDx Talks YouTube Channel has more than 30 million subscribers and over 1 billion views.

That’s a lot of Ideas Worth Spreading!

MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS

Nathalie Antonov is a Marketing and Events Professional with expertise in producing live music events, usually with her camera in-hand.

At The University of Delaware (Go Blue Hens!), she soaked her toes as a DJ and Promotions Director at student radio station WVUD, which opened the door for her to pursue a career as Promotions Director for Wilmington’s WSTW and WDEL.

Her favorite parts of the job? Producing small, intimate concerts and meet & greets for fans, booking and running the Wilmington Flower Market concerts, and photographing all of these experiences, particularly at Firefly Music Festival.

She continues bringing her creativity, organization, (her camera), and her passion for events to Delaware as part of the team at Gable Music Ventures – and now to the TedXWilmington team too!

CURATION

I currently work at the Allere Group in a newly created position of corporate synergy. I’ve spent my career curating my experience. From building, owning and operating multinational corporations, to educating and mentoring college students and professionals, to strategic precision implementation.

At Allere, I focus on bringing each element of the business: operations, marketing, finance, human resources and others all together to operate at peak synergy for maximum efficiency. More than strategy and cross training, corporate synergy is an overall mode of laser focus, using the individual and integral parts of the business to create a fully functioning, master level whole. Its efforts like this that will keep Allere in the pole position versus the competition.

I take my community and my touch within that seriously, I continue to teach, mentor and guide corporate boards toward excellence for all Delawareans and beyond.
